Method of calculation
Translation costs are generally calculated per folder. The trade associations
involved generally assign to a folder a value of 1375 characters,
corresponding to 25 lines of
55 characters.
In some cases it is preferable to assign a cost per line, word or ASCII byte (character).
The relationships between the various units of measurement are the following:.

How can I know how many
folder make up my document ??
The
simplest method is to display the total number of characters and divide it by
1375. Many programs allow this (i.e. Microsoft WORD). Within the calculation,
you must also allow for any possible captions, tables, text inserted within
frames, and more generally all the words that the word processor could not
count. Please also note that, according to the language, the translation could
turn out being longer than the original version. If you do not want to be
burdened with such tasks, send the document to us.

Why
do the number of characters quoted in your offer not
equal to those of my original document?

The
most likely reason is that the target
language is longer
with respect to that of the source. Another reason may be due to the
fact that headings, subtitles, frames etc. have not been taken into
consideration.
